Happy New Year from The West!

By December 29, 2017From the West

Happy New Year, brethren! I hope your holidays have been pleasant, and filled with family and fun.

I look back on 2017 and my time as Junior Warden, and I am filled with pride for the things that we have accomplished. To echo the words of Worshipful Brother Lee at the installation, Friendship Masonic Lodge #160 knows what it wants to do, and we are getting better at it every year. We are working on bigger and better charitable work and involvement in our community, greater education and discussion at our gatherings, and fellowship befitting our name.I would like to take this time to inform you of some of our efforts toward those ends: We have two types of regular fellowship events planned for 2018. Over the past few months, we have held game nights at the Lodge that have been well attended, and we will continue to hold these events. The first of these events in 2018 will be on January 10th at 7 p.m. at the Lodge. All brethren are welcome to bring their board games, snacks, drinks, and other libations, and enjoy a good night of brotherhood and fun.

These events will alternate with evenings dedicated to continuing our education and discussion of philosophy with the Great Courses lectures. Due to the great live speakers that will be coming in to talk at our stated meetings, and wanting to respect our brethren’s time and give due attention to the material we will be discussing and listening to, we have decided to move our exploration of the Great Courses lectures to a separate night. This will allow us to take our time with the discussion, both at the stated meetings and during these separate events, and also continue to enjoy each other’s company and fellowship.

Friendship Masonic Lodge has a bright future ahead of it, and I look forward to continuing our vision of one sacred band or society of brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist but that noble contention, or rather emulation, of who best can work and best agree.

Fraternally,

Chris Chase

Senior Warden
