Freemasonry teaches that the greatest virtue
is charity.
Friendship Masonic Lodge holds fast to the proposition
“of those to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Relieving the distressed
We are committed to continuing our support for homeless Portlanders, through our ongoing Homeless Relief Kits and supplies program. Which you can read more about here. And, we have been strong partners with Portland area Masonic Lodges to support and extending volunteer feeding programs for Portlanders in need.
To accomplish our charitable goals, we rely on our Lodge endowment, enhanced by direct cash funding and volunteer time commitments by our members and the Masonic community at large, as well as fund matching through the Grand Lodge of Oregon CAP program.
Our Worshipful Master for 2020 has maintained our Charity budget allotment for this year, seeking to extend the reach of our works.
In line with our Masonic obligations
We happily support the Masonic Family through the community involvement requests we receive and fund, including our ongoing support for our dear and longtime friends in Job’s Daughters Bethel No. 4. We have provided direct support to Table Mountain Lodge No. 124, of Paradise, California, towards relief efforts related to the devastating fires there in recent years.
If you know of a Masonic program in need of support, or if you want to join us in this work, please reach out to us. We hope to hear from you. While we cannot respond to every funding request, we do work diligently to manage the assets of our Lodge in a manner allowing us to help spread the good works of Freemasonry in the world.
